HEARING SCRIPT

Chairman: The Subcommittee on [Name of Subcommittee] will come to order [GAVEL]. The Subcommittee is meeting today to hear testimony on [SUBJECT OF HEARING]. (Under Rule 4(g) of the Committee Rules, any oral opening statements at hearings are limited to the Chairman and the Ranking Minority Member. Therefore, if other Members have statements, they can be included in the hearing record under unanimous consent.

The Chairman now recognizes the Ranking Minority Member for any statement he may have.

Let me remind the witnesses that under our Committee Rules, they must limit their oral statements to five minutes, but that their entire statement will appear in the record. Chairman: I thank the panel for their testimony. Reminding the Members that the (Committee Rule 3(c) Depends on Committee) imposes a five-minute limit on questions, the Chairman will now recognize Members for any questions they may wish to ask the witnesses.
