Rule Approved for Financial Services & Energy and Water Appropriations

Washington, DC – The House Committee on Rules met today and approved a Rule for consideration of H.R. 3170 - Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, 2010 and H.R. 3182 – Energy and Water Appropriations Act, FY 2010

Chair Louise M. Slaughter issued the following statement:

“This energy and waster appropriations bill provides for essential improvements in secure energy, including expanded scientific research for innovation and new job opportunities for millions of Americans. Moreover, the financial services bill touches the lives of millions of people, whether it is funding small business programs, protecting people through the Consumer Product Safety Commission and much better regulation. I strongly encourage my colleagues to support these rules when they come to the floor this week and get this legislation to the President.”
